As the year drew to a close, I had the honor of capturing the most beautiful love story – Michelle and Paul’s intimate Brooklyn Winery wedding in Williamsburg, NYC. From heartfelt letters to a dad’s emotional speech, every moment of their special day was a testament to the depth of their love.
Details, Getting Ready, and Love Letters
The day commenced with delicate details, each telling a piece of the couple’s story. From the elegant shoes and perfume bottle to the heartfelt letters exchanged between Michelle and Paul, the stage was set for a day filled with love and emotion.
Separate getting-ready moments unfolded with friends and family, creating such sweet anticipation for the ceremony. It was heartwarming to witness the care and support surrounding the bride and groom as they prepared for the most important day of their lives.
Michelle and Paul finished getting ready by reading letters from one another separately and intimately. It was so emotional for both of them to receive such meaningful words before saying “I do” at the altar.
Something I will never forget was a unique touch that came from Michelle’s dad. He was armed with a Go-Pro to capture the day’s memories; his dedication to preserving every detail added a humorous and heartwarming dimension to the celebration.
A Ceremony in Cultural Harmony
Once the ceremony began, what I witnessed was absolutely beautiful: the entire ceremony was conducted in Korean, which is a beautiful nod to Michelle and Paul’s cultural roots. From a friend’s song to the pastor’s officiation and a heartfelt bow with their parents, every element celebrated the significance of their heritage.
Sealed with a first kiss, Michelle and Paul transitioned seamlessly into the next chapter of their lives. The day unfolded with no rush or hurry, allowing for the candid moments that make documentary-style photography truly special. If you need a sign, this is yours just to enjoy your day organically and let your photographer capture everything as it unfolds.
A Fun Cocktail Hour
The cocktail hour brought laughter and engagement with a crossword puzzle, challenging guests to test their knowledge of Michelle and Paul’s love story. I was so excited that I got one right! I knew where they had their first date because we relived those moments at Ruby’s together during their engagement session.
A Heartfelt Reception
As Michelle and Paul made their grand entrance, the air was filled with love from their close friends and family. The evening commenced with their first dance, followed by Michelle sharing a special dance with her father. Both dances illuminated smiles and laughter all across the room.
Michelle’s dad later stole the show with an emotional speech, sharing not only sincere words, but also past orchestral music Michelle played in her childhood. His heartfelt expressions of love added an unforgettable layer to an already emotional day.
Michelle & Paul’s thoughtful wedding favors, bottles of wine for their guests, reflected the essence of the celebration. With around 70 guests, the wedding maintained an intimate atmosphere that made the day feel truly so special and sweet. I couldn’t have asked to end the wedding season on a better note.
